GPA provided a first time grant of $3775.00 in January, 2013 to the organization to implement a sewing program focusing on tailoring and business skills. Participants will also receive information on disease prevention, nutrition and family planning. The training program, scheduled for one year, will culminate in the opportunity for participants to keep their sewing machines thus having initial resources to begin selling their garments in the marketplace.
In December 2013 the program reported the first 8 participants will graduate in January, 2014 and has begun to produce school uniforms for sale to the local community. Several trainees have elected to remain with the program to continue to produce uniforms.
